1. Terrence Williams (Nets). One of the best athletes in the draft, can defend very well and is a great passer. As Jay Bilas would say, he is "freakishly quick and abundantly lanky." More importantly, he wore a pink backpack around the Louisville campus, and he once told me that I looked like I was in a boy band (true story).
2. Brandon Jennings (Bucks): Was late to the draft and didn’t play in America last year, both of which make me like him less as a person, but not as a player.
3. Tyler Hansborough (Pacers): No one hated the nickname or the player “Psycho-T” more than me during his UNC tenure, but with solid physical attributes and a solid showing in his first summer league game (17 points), he seems promising as a role player. You would usually like a little more than a role player at the 13th pick, but that’s the 2009 NBA Draft for you.
4. DaJuan Blair (Spurs): Always loved him at Pitt despite the fact he was on one of Georgetown’s biggest rivals. Tough, smart, physical, and played in the big east – could be a lot of value for the spurs if they’re trying to make a run.
5. Taylor Griffin (Suns): Just kidding, Taylor Griffin is going to suck in the NBA and was drafted solely because his last name is Griffin and he has a brother who isn’t too shabby. At least Taylor isn’t as ugly as the younger Griffin, so he’s got that going for him. But expect him to be a career NBDLer.
Every time I see Brandon Jennings name i get pissed off. I am sorry I just cant like the kid. Lets go over his career in the past two years. Commits to Arizona, ok doing well soo far. Then he goes too McDonalds All American game with the freshest flattop I have seen since Kenny Anderson's in the 90s for the Pheonix Suns. So right now I am making bets with everyone that this kid will win a championship in college and then be the first pick of the draft in the NBA....WELL then comes the reason why a 17 year kid who cant become eligible for college should not be able to make life decisions, I would have at least tried to pull a Derrick Rose and get into college somehow and compete for a National Championship, believe me seems like a lot better rout then being 3rd string on a team in Europe where nobody speaks English.(runon sentence but i had to get all my anger out). So Jennings declares to play in Europe where he is positive he will go over seas, start, then get drafted top 5 in the NBA. Well believe it or not he went 1 for 3...he made it overseas, ended up 3rd string, then was drafted 10 by the Bucks not too bad. Ok so a kids life long dream is to get drafted in the NBA, he is clearly going to get taken lottery, but decides he doesn't want to go to the green room. Well Brandon you got drafted 10 then 5 minutes later when the Nets picked we moved on and were done talking about you. So when I thought my hatred couldn't get worse for every move you have made since high school, Earl Clark gets drafted number 14 and you walk out looking like a fool, with a MSG crown that should have booed but i think just laughed. This kid has made every wrong move possible so far, hopefully he can play, he has proven to be a good teammate as the day he got drafted he was filming a video later to be posted on youtube of him bashing the starting point guard on his team Luke Riddnour. If the kid cant play, i hope liked Italy, because that is where he will be.
